Settled halfway between Great Barrington and West Stockbridge, MA going North up Rt.41, this 200 year old home was built by a Connecticut farmer migrating North to the flatlands of the north plains of Housatonic at the foot of Tom Ball Mountain.  It is said to be the oldest house on this road with 2 1/2 acres of manicured flower beds and maple and pine trees.

Much of its original character is intact such as: the wide pine floors, open  beam ceilings and the Rumford fireplace in the main house. The Rumford Room, which is the oldest room in the house, is open for Holiday Specials with dinner packages.

The newer Carriage House for guests is decorated with many comforts of colonial times. In each guest room there are queen size high posters and canopy beds, paintings and handmade quilts.

All the guest suites have an inviting terrace, some of which overlook Tom Ball Mountain. The guest rooms are tastefully decorated with handmade quilts, paintings and antiques.

All rooms have private baths, a color t.v., hairdryer, high poster queen, queen canopies, and some guest suites have fireplaces.

In the warmer months, all rooms are air conditioned. You will enjoy a stroll through our many seasonal flower beds, or between some of the 100 year old maple and pine trees.  In the colder months, all rooms have flannel sheets and soft terry cloth robes to keep you warm. You will usually find a crackling fire burning in the fireplace in the guest back

Mornings bring cool breezes, warm sunshine, and the aroma of fresh coffee to awaken and draw you to the glass enclosed garden dining room. This room can sit up to 12 people with separate tables, where, in the spring, you will see many baby flowers popping up from the ground. Lilacs, lilies, tulips, and daffodils are some commonly seen varieties in the spring and in the summer months are 65 other perennials. This is also where you, our guest, will enjoy a three course, mouthwatering breakfast.  Christines inn serves a full hot skilled cooked table served breafkast each morning,  menu selection is one of the reasons our guests return year and year.

Location is the key word. Situated in the heart of the Berkshire mountains, we truly have the best of both worlds when it comes to location and cultural activities for our guests.

During the summer months, the area is home to the well known Boston Symphony Orchestra performing at Tanglewood in nearby Lenox. Famous author Edith Wharton, whose estate is known as The Mount, is also located in Lenox. This is where the areas foremost theatrical ensemble -- Shakespeare & Company performs many classic plays from the famous playwright. The theater is also blossoming with sites such as : Jacob's Pillow, and The Berkshire Theater Festival. A short ride will bring you to Hancock, where Hancock Shaker Village is situated. You can tour the grounds of this quaint village and experience the Shaker way of life for yourself. You may even arrive in time the attend the annual auction of Shaker items! If antiques are your fancy, an abundance of fine antique shops will capture your attention in the Great Barrington and Stockbridge area.

Fall hiking in the nearby mountains provide a spectacular display of colors that the Berkshires are famous for, and color is a word that brings to mind the deep red glory of Bartletts' Orchard apples, where fresh cider and homemade pies are available in abundance. Also in the Autumn months, the Fall Foliage Crafts Fair at the Berkshire Garden Center in Stockbridge is an entertaining way to spend the day. In September, the annual Josh Billings' road race in Gt. Barrington is held.

Winter offers many snow covered trails just a few miles from us at Butternut Ski Area. We have super ski packages to offer you.
