This 1810 Greek Revival home is located on a tree-lined street in the heart of Bath’s Historic District, within easy walking distance of charming shops and excellent restaurants.

Beautifully appointed and spacious guest rooms, each with its own distinctive décor and special touches, make your stay a unique experience whether you are looking for that very special romantic getaway in Maine, a wonderful and active Maine family vacation or a relaxing retreat from your busy business schedule.

A defining characteristic of The Inn at Bath is its casual and relaxed atmosphere where guests feel totally at home in the midst of handsome antiques, lovely decorations and luxury amenities. Outside you will marvel at the stunning and serene gardens coupled with gracious architecture. Our Inn is a Maine Bed and Breakfast like no other.

The rooms all have private bathrooms contained within the bedroom - no dashes down the hall in your towel!

Our guest bathrooms all have both showers and bathtubs. except for The Sail Loft, which has a large shower with seat.

The Inn at Bath has been called one of the most guest-friendly bed and breakfasts in Maine. Today, through creative design and decorative treatments each of The Inn at Bath's guest rooms has its own special individuality. This quality is enhanced by 18th and 19th century antiques, lovely fabrics and what many guests call "the special touches." The Inn's beautifully-appointed and spacious guest rooms have private bathrooms, air conditioning, cable television, VCR's, AM-FM clock radio/cassette players and telephones. CD players are also available. For our guests’ convenience, the Inn has a fax machine, a computer for access to the internet or e-mail and WI-FI for those with wireless laptops. Off-street parking isavailable. The Inn welcomes children 4 years of age and older and dogs.

We also have a handicapped accessible first floor level guest room built to ADA specifications which includes the required outdoor entrance ramp with year-'round accessibility.

Today, through creative design and decorating, each of The Inn’s guest rooms has its own personality. All of our guest rooms has private bathrooms, air conditioning, cable television, DVD players, clock radios and telephones. For our guests’ convenience, the Inn has WI-FI for those with wireless laptops, a fax machine, and a computer for access to the internet or e-mail. Off-street parking is available. The Inn welcomes children 5 years of age and over and dogs in some of the rooms.

Our rooms offer a selection of firm and comfortable king, queen, double and twin beds, each with large comforters and extra pillows. Two rooms have very comfortable 6’5″ daybeds which can be made up for additional guests. Four guest rooms have writing desks and loveseats, and three rooms have outdoor entrances; ideal for pets!. We have two fireplace rooms and two Jacuzzi/ fireplace rooms. We use real firewood and do not limit the firewood supply, the cost of which is included in the posted rate.

Our Town

The Inn is located in Bath's quiet and picturesque Historic District, just a block from the tidal Kennebec River which empties into the Atlantic Ocean 12 miles away. Within walking distance are Bath’s shops and restaurants, The Chocolate Church Arts Center, Bath Iron Works and the Maine Maritime Museum. Not far from The Inn is L.L. Bean and the Freeport retail outlets. Bowdoin College with its museums and historic sites is in the adjoining town of Brunswick, while Bates and Colby Colleges are within lodging distance. The ocean is close by and can be enjoyed at Reid State Park, a rugged and scenic beach, and at Popham Beach, a glorious five-mile stretch of white sand rated one of the most beautiful beaches in New England.

Policies

  • Rates: $150 - $245
  • Additional Persons
    For a third guest in a given guest room , there is an additional nightly charge of $50.00 for each additional person. (Not all of our rooms are conducive to adding another person.) For visiting pets, there is a nightly charge of $15.00.
  • Payment
    Visa, Master Card, and American Express credit cards are accepted. The Innkeeper prefers personal, corporate or traveler's checks, or cash.
    A 7% Maine State Lodging tax is added to our guests' statements. Gratuities are optional.
  • Minimum Stay
    Although we generally have a two-night minimum stay over weekends and national and religious holidays, the combination of certain days often results in one-night availability for Friday or Saturday night, so do e-mail or call us to check.
  • Deposits:
    Generally we do not require advanced deposits, but rather hold your credit card information as security for our guaranty of your reserved guest room (s). Large bookings of many rooms for one or more days will involve a deposit at the time of the reservation.
  • Check In:
    When you arrive, please use the off-street parking area and enter the building through the side door directly above this area. If Elizabeth or a staff member is not available, there will be a “Welcome Package” for you on the kitchen counter with directions to your room. The Welcome Package will also have a “Breakfast Sheet” attached which you need to fill out and leave in the kitchen before you go out for dinner. Should you have any questions or need assistance, please use the telephone in your guest room (call 443-4294 or 751-9767) or use the call boxes located on the side and front porches.
  • Check Out:
    We ask our departing guests to make their guest rooms available by 11:00 AM so our staff can prepare them for the incoming guests. Often guests will check out but then take one last walk through town, returning later for their car.  Please let us know if you choose to do this.
  • Cancellations:
    If you need to cancel or reduce the duration of your reservation, you must do so at least 15 days prior to your originally scheduled arrival date in order for us to refund your deposit check. If you cancel or reduce the duration of your reservation during the 14 days preceeding your originally scheduled arrival date or reduce the duration of your stay after you arrive, you will be financially responsible for the entire amount of your originally scheduled lodging, except for those nights we are able to rebook.
  • Children and Pets
    Children and pets are welcome, but selectively, and should be discussed with us when you make your reservation. Please see our Reservations section on our Homepage for our "House Rules for Visiting Pets."
  • Bath Cancer Treatment Center Patients
    If you are a cancer patient at the Bath Cancer Treatment Center, we will give you a complimentary guest room, depending upon our availability, during your treatment.
  • Smoking
    Smoking is not permitted inside The Inn. Guests may smoke on the porches or in the gardens.
