Harborside House is an 1850 colonial overlooking the picturesque harbor
in the historic district of Marblehead.

Guests enjoy waterviews from the wood-paneled and beamed living room with fireplace, the period dining room, and the sunny breakfast porch and deck.

Marblehead's winding streets are lined with houses which reflect its history: 17th century homes of the early fisherman, 18th century Georgian mansions of ship owners (such as the Lee and Hooper mansions), 19th century Victorian edifaces such as Abbot Hall, where the famous painting "The Spirit of '76" can be seen.

Enjoy activities such as whale watch excursions, historic house tours, classical and jazz concerts, sunset cruises, the July Arts Festival, the December Christmas walk, or summer racing regettas.

A homestay bed and breakfast since 1985, Harborside House offers two comfortable, well appointed guest rooms. A full modern bath is shared.

Each room offers the comfort and convenience of writing desk, bureau, closet, clock radio. terry robes and toiletries.

Susan Livingston transformed her home of over thirty years into one of Marblehead's first Bed & Breakfasts in 1985. She is a semi-retired professional dressmaker specializing in weddings. She has been active in the Historical Society and a local garden club. She is a calligraphist and nationally ranked Master swimmer. Susan is very happy to share her knowledge of Marblehead, as well as Salem, Cape Ann and Boston, all within an hour's travel.
