At the Darby Field Inn, our goal is to provide you with comfortable accommodations in a quiet, romantic, safe, clean and friendly environment. We offer delicious, well-prepared food, made with the freshest ingredients possible, and served in a casual, yet elegant environment. In every way, we're committed to helping you, our guest, relax and enjoy your time in New Hampshire's White Mountains. If there's something we can do to enhance your stay, just let us know.
You'll feel instantly comfortable at the Darby Field Inn. Our building was constructed as a homestead in 1826, but over the years, it has hosted guests of all ages, as a farm, boys' camp and a guest house. Today, the Darby Field Inn is a rambling mountain retreat and a haven for travelers from all over the world.
Outside you'll find award winning flower gardens, a sparkling swimming pool, an outdoor hot tub, private walking or cross-country ski trails and a stunning panorama of the White Mountains.
Our living room with its massive fieldstone fireplace invites you to meet other inn guests, read a book or just relax with our mountain view.
The Darby Field Inn offers a variety of accommodations for you to choose from.
Thirteen rooms and suites are located on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the inn and are furnished with either a queen or king bed. All rooms have private baths, some with shower only and some with soaking tubs, a two-person Jacuzzi, or two-person steam shower. Deluxe rooms and suites have sitting areas for enhanced comfort. The Inn is a non smoking establishment.
Inn guests are welcome to make themselves comfortable in our roomy living room in a wing back chair by our wood-burning fieldstone fireplace, couch or cozy chair and enjoy the spectacular views of the Presidential mountains, read your favorite book or select one from our library, play a board game, or watch TV. Beyond the living room is our sunroom tavern. Littlefield's Tavern with its own wood stove, overlooks our award-winning gardens and is the perfect place to play a game of cribbage, enjoy your favorite beverage and have a light bite to eat.
In the warmer months, our guests can enjoy our gardens, pool, and patio area. Sway in a hammock, or settle into the adirondack chairs in the garden. The park-like surroundings of our outdoor heated swimming pool offers both seating in the sun or the shade and is popular even if you don't want to swim. For the best views, select a table on the patio or step up to the two chairs for the one of the best views we offer.
The Darby Field Inn has been bringing culinary excellence to the Mt. Washington Valley for over 30 years. From our made to order country breakfasts to our candlelit dinners, we are always striving to serve our guests in the style and manner that only a true country inn could provide.
Relax in our dining room and enjoy the view of the Presidential Mountains (inlcuding Mt. Washington) over breakfast (served only to Inn guests, unless pre-arranged with front desk) or for dinner, served to inn guests and outside guests alike. Our menu features seasonal entrees prepared from local ingredients whenever possible, including herbs and vegetables from our own garden.
Our full dinner menu is also served in the cozy Littlefield's Tavern, the perfect place to relax with family and friends and play a board game, or challenge your skills at cribbage - an Inn favorite! After all, isn't that what a Tavern is for ... great food, fun, and company?!
Our restaurant hours do change seasonally; please inquire about dinner when making your room reservation. Reservations are requested for the dining room.
We invite you to savor delicious food in either our romantic mountain-view dining room, or in cozy Littlefield's Tavern.
No matter which you choose, you will find dining at the Darby Field Inn is more than dinner - it’s an experience!
Reservation Policies and Guest Information
Reserve some time to revitalize ...
Schedule your massages when you make your room reservation, or any time before you arrive. We recommend you reserve spa services no later than 48 hrs ahead of time, since the professional therapists we use are independent contractors and are in high demand throughout the Mt. Washington Valley.
There's more to it than just feeling good; therapeutic massage relaxes tight muscles, increases blood circulation, boosts the immune system, reduces stress, and relaxes the tense nerves. Treat yourself to a massage during your stay...you won't regret it!
