Welcome to the Rider's Inn!
Feel at home.. Our cozy pub, our casually elegant dining room, and comfortable quarters offer respite from the day's activities. All in an atmosphere of yesteryear. Warmth and friendliness are hallmarks of the hospitality you receive at Rider's Inn.

Available for your comfort and enjoyment are ten guest rooms, each furnished with antiques reflecting the Victorian through the Early American periods of the Inn's history.

The rooms feature private baths, telephone, room service, and our special Continental breakfast served in Bed.

You can relax in our guests' private Gathering Room with games, books, TV, video games, and conversation. Stay one night or several. One suite is available for monthly occupancy. Ask about our Romantic Tour Surprise package.

Mistress Suzanne's Dining Room

Rich in the tradition of the Western Reserve, our restaurant serves colonial fare in our beautifully appointed dining room or fireplace room. Delight in authentic game and fish entrees prepared from original 19th century recipes, as well as traditional beef, chicken, veal, and duck. Be tempted with luscious desserts tableside. Hear stories about Suzanne Rider, Joseph's third wife.

Joseph's English Pub

Relax and make new friends in the warm glow of the old stone fireplace in our Enlish-style pub. Join in a game of darts, chess, checkers, or hay penny, solve our puzzles, partake in some lively conversation, or simply enjoy a reprieve from your busy day. Live entertainment performs on Friday and Saturday

Activities For All Seasons

Our Innkeepers are avid sailors and cross-country skiers. They can introduce you to the area attractions: boating, swimming, fishing, golf, tennis, horseback riding. Rider's Inn is adjacent to Lake Erie College and its campus theatre and Indian Museum.  The Innkeepers can plan trips to the Amish Country and many nearby antique shops. Enjoy Lake Farmpark, Mentor Headlands State Park, Holden Arboretum, James Garfield Historical Home, and the Kirtland Mormon Temple.

Rates

Room rates range from $79 to $101 per night, excluding tax and gratuities, including breakfast for two. Ten guest rooms are available. We accommodate your schedule with no set check-in or check-out times. Families welcome. Babysitters available. Limited pet policy. Please ask. We have an outside Inn cat named Salt, and a dog named Sailor.

  • Has a weekly Brunch on Sunday's from 10:00 - 3:00 p.m. ($18.99 per person)
  • Has special holiday buffets on Easter Sunday, Mother's Day and Father's Day, Thanksgiving Day (traditional meal), Candlelight Christmas Eve sit-down dinner, New Year's Eve Gala, New Years Day Pork and Sauerkraut dinner, Romantic Dinners for two on Valentine's Day and Sweetest Day, and a Fourth of July Picnic
  • Can assist with Wedding or Big Event Planning
  • Can assist with planning and hosting Baby, Bridal or Grandmother showers, and Rehearsal dinners
  • Can have Tea Parties (up to 50 people) with presentation about the Inn and its history
  • Special history programs available for Youth groups, such as Teddy Bear Tea Parties, Ice Cream
    Socials, Slumber Parties, Sweet Sixteen Tea Parties, etc.
