An 1809 Civil War theme in on the Gettysburg Battlefield with daily history demonstrations, Friday ghost stories, Civil War seminars, theme weekends, delicious full breakfasts, and all private baths. Located on 30 secluded acres just five minutes from the Gettysburg National Military Park Visitor Center, restaurants, and shopping.

While Florence and her staff attend to home and hearth in 19th century fashion you can enjoy historic Gettysburg and the other sights of the area, knowing everything is well in hand for your return.

Every room at the Battlefield Bed & Breakfast has a theme dedicated to the units which fought on the South Cavalry Battlefield.

The four Union and four Confederate guest quarters are all appointed with handmade quilts, civil war art, (which is related to their theme), and private baths.

Most rooms can accommodate portable beds for extra guests. The inn has central heating and air conditioning throughout, and all rooms at the inn are non-smoking. Families are always welcome at the Battlefield Bed & Breakfast.  Rates: $125 - $250

History is the "Grand Soap Opera." 

Come to Battlefield Bed & Breakfast Inn in Gettysburg Pennsylvania to sample some of the experiences of the soldiers & civilians who were drawn into this turning point of American History.

We do a different program every day of your stay

  • Find out about the life of an infantryman. We dress and guest in uniform with all the equipment. You may also learn to fire a Civil War musket.
  • Explore the world of artillery ammunition
  • See how the cavalry trained for battle. Dr. William Pulig demonstrates the "Riding at the Heads" course on his horse, Kentucky.
  • Learn about Civil War Medicine from Dr. William Pulig, a modern day physician- Civil Warre-enactor who brings his 19th Century surgery kit and explains what the doctors really could and couldn't do during the Civil War.
  • Check with us for our current schedule of weekend encampments for the rest of the year. During these special weekends, you will have an opportunity to visit a Civil War camp which has been set up by the pond. The re-enactors will be doing demonstrations for guests during their stay.

We have a wide variety of Civil War experts who will share their knowledge and enthusiasm with you during your stay.

Join us Friday evening at 8:30 PM in the Summer Kitchen Parlor for Ghost Stories.

In season, you may see geese, deer, fox and all manner of wildlife within our ponds, fields and streams and woods. Guests stroll past the picnic grove, and amidst huge oak trees and timeless landscapes, they relax in the shade. The romance of history awaits you.

Policies

  • Deposit
    We require a $25 non-refundable deposit for each room reserved. This will be applied toward the cost of your stay.
  • Cancellation Policy
    We need 1 weeks notice for a regular overnight stay of one room. We need 2 weeks notice for cancellation of a package weekend or for cancellation of more than two rooms. If you give us less notice, you will be responsible for the cost of the room if we are unable to refill the vacancy.
  • Check-in 2:30 PM - 8:00 PM or by arrangement.
  • Check-out 11:30 AM
  • We welcome guests of all ages and all backgrounds.
  • Children at the Inn
    Families welcome. Parents are asked to be considerate of other guests.
  • Group Reservations
    Are you planning a family reunion? Business retreat? Seminar? Wedding? Please ask for Florence. She will be happy to help you with your special arrangements. We can provide history programs, arrange group dinners, arrange the inn to suite your needs for meetings, and help you think through all the details of your plans.
