The Inn is also the site of the Battle of Barren Hill, where General Lafayette, his men and 50 Indians held off and finally escaped capture by a much larger English force.

Our Restaurant

Fine dining, rough-hewn beams, wall sconces, cozy nooks and a huge wood-burning fireplace. Built in 1732, the Inn has operated continuously as a hotel and restaurant. Copies of rare prints of the original inhabitants, the Lenni-Lenape Indians, hang on the walls. The dining room opens into a beautiful cobblestone patio.

The food is inspired by Southern and Native American recipes. Generous portions; wholesome and delicious. The owners beleive that natural is best. All of the water used in the beer making and the restaurant is charcoal filtered. All ingredients are fresh--from the hops and grains for the beer to the vegetables and other ingredients in the entrees. The barroom has at least seven brewed-on-site beers always on tap; currently including our Mead Ale, aged 6 months (those who prefer wine will love it!). Fine wines, single malt scotches, and mixed drinks are also available.

The Inn has six working fireplaces and many rooms; each being a special experience.
The rooms may be reserved for private parties.

All of our dining rooms are non-smoking.

• Spacious living room with fireplace that seats up to 16 guests.
• May be reserved for seminars and conferences.
• Dining Room seats 10 persons.
• Kitchen facilities are self-serve 24 hours with refrigerator loaded with complimentary orange juice, milk, soda, spring water and snacks. Coffee or tea can be made any time. There is also fresh fruit, cereal, instant hot oatmeal available for guests enjoyment breakfast or night. By special request hot breakfast can be served (optional).

• Every Sunday there is a sumptuous buffet breakfast served at the restaurant from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for a additional charge.

  Rates and Policies

  Rates: $109 - $159 Prices quoted are double occupancy - Third person charge of $25. Please inquire about renting the entire house. Additional full-size, fold-out bed in living room. Lower prices may be negotiated for longer term stays or frequent stays. Deposit and Cancellations: Individual Room(s)...We require a credit card number to hold room(s). Cancellation notice is required two weeks in advance of your reservation. There will be a charge of 20% of your total stay if you cancel within two weeks of your reservation, however that charge can be applied to a future stay. Any cancellation made less than 24 hours in advance will result in a charge of 100% of your total stay and cannot be applied to a future stay. Whole House: We require a credit card number and 50% deposit to hold the reservation. Cancellation notice is required one month in advance of your reservation. Deposit will be lost if you cancel within one month; however, 20% of that can be applied to a future stay. Any cancellation made less than 24 hours of your stay will result in a 100% charge of your total stay and cannot be applied to any future reservation. An additional damage deposit of $300 is due at check-in and will be refunded accordingly upon house inspection after your departure. Note: This policy also applies to reservations made less than two weeks of the date of stay for individual room(s) or less than one month of the date of stay for the whole house.
