Utah State and Visitor Information

Utah, located in the Southwest region of the United States, is well known for its year round outdoor activities including skiing, snowboarding, hiking, boating, water skiing, horseback riding, camping, and rock climbing. The capital city of Salt Lake City has a number of unique modern and historical sites to visit.  At the western base of the Wasatch Range is the Wasatch Front, a series of valleys and basins that are home to the most populous parts of the state. The major cities of Ogden, Salt Lake City, Layton, West Valley City, Sandy, West Jordan, Orem, and Provo are located within this region, which stretches approximately from Brigham City at the north end to Nephi at the south end.   Much of the scenic southern landscape is sandstone, specifically Kayenta sandstone and Navajo sandstone. The Colorado River and its tributaries wind their way through the sandstone, creating some of the world's most striking and wild terrain.  You can see all this while staying at one of the state's welcoming bed & breakfasts, ranch or farm B&B, historic hotels or mountain lodges.

Utah's 45 state parks are a combination of heritage, scenic and recreation parks. You will also be impressed by the grandeur and startling diversity and of its five national parks (Zion, Bryce Canyon, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef, and Arches), as well as it's six national monuments.  You can camp, boat, swim, fish, picnic, visit interpretive areas, golf, hike, bike, ride off-highway vehicles, or just relax with family and friends at a Utah bed and breakfast inn, ranch or farm B&B, homestay bed and breakfast, historic hotel, country inn or mountain lodge, or urban inn.  The innkeepers at a UT bed and breakfast will surely be able to give you additional information on where to go and what to see for your Utah vacation.
