country inn nestled on a scenic hillside
overlooking the Shenandoah Valley
Brierley Hill was built in 1993 as a quiet haven for the weary traveler and a romantic getaway from the workaday world. Named for the antique clock that graces the entryway, this lovely inn is the epitome of laid-back luxury and Southern grace.
Common areas such as the upstairs sitting room, dining room and wrap-around-verandah offer comfortable gathering places year-around. In the upstairs hall, a circular desk, strategically placed between corner windows, boasts a view of the venerable Lexington landmark, House Mountain (3,600 feet high). Here gray clouds first gather, unleashing a blockbuster show of thunder and lightening over the Shenandoah Valley.
There are six guest rooms
available at Brierley Hill, all with elegant beds (five canopy beds, and a pine library
bed in the Good Friends Suite), private bathrooms and sitting areas.
The inn is fully air-conditioned and a cozy fireplace in the dining room warms chilly winter mornings.
Room rates include a
full country breakfast served between
8:30 - 9:00 AM and afternoon refreshments.
This delightfully romantic and spacious cottage suite is located in a private building with private entrance. Features include a large bedroom with a king teaster bed and gas fireplace; a plush private bathroom with double whirlpool tub and separate shower; a sitting room with queen sleeper sofa TV/DVD combination, computer, refrigerator, and private balcony; and gracious bay windows throughout. Handicapped accessible. Rates: $329 (12/1 3/31) and $379 (4/1 11/30)
