Once the center of a
400-acre Shenandoah Valley farm, Stoneridge Bed & Breakfast offers a glimpse of
antebellum life just minutes from historic Lexington, Virginia. The original house was
built in 1829 with bricks made on the property, and over the years several additions were
constructed by previous owners.
Just nine minutes from the center of
Historic Lexington, this bed and breakfast is surrounded by thirty-two secluded acres of
Virginia countryside fields, streams and woodlands; and abundant wildflowers,
butterflies and wildlife deer, turkeys and songbirds.
In the picturesque Shenandoah Valley,
Stoneridge is an uncommon bed and breakfast a Lexington, Virginia landmark with two
centuries of history to share with you, our guest.
Sit on the spacious front
porch and sip a cool drink as you enjoy the sunset over the mountains
innkeepers have created the finest bed and breakfast lodging in Rockbridge County,
Virginia, with five charming guest rooms, each named after former owners of Stoneridge.
Four of the rooms are double-occupancy; and one the Nathan McCluer Suite
accommodates a third person in a single-size bed.
Each room has a queen bed and a
private bath; three have jetted whirlpool tubs, and four have gas-log fireplaces.
A full gourmet breakfast is served in
the dining room and
afternoon and evening refreshments are provided.
Specialties include tarragon and cream cheese scrambled eggs in a crepe topped
with a béchamel sauce, spiced pumpkin waffles with calvados Asian pears,
lemon poppy pancakes with a mapled blueberry coulis, homemade muffins and breads,
breakfast meats, fresh fruits, juices, and hot coffee or tea.
Breakfast is served by candlelight in the original dining room of our 1829 home. We
promise that you will not go away hungry. Individual dietary needs and restrictions are
always considered as we prepare our morning specialties.

- Reservations: To confirm your reservation, we require valid credit card
information or advance payment by check equal to one-nights lodging; or 50% of your
total reservation, to include taxes, whichever is greater; or advance payment by check
equal to your total reservation, to include taxes. You will receive written confirmation
of your reservation by mail or e-mail.
- Rates: Rates are based on season, day of week, and double occupancy,
taxes not included. For single occupancy subtract $10 per night. Full gourmet breakfast
and afternoon refreshments are included. Rates are subject to change without notice.
- Cancellation: A full refund, less a $15 fee, will be made when
cancellation is received at least fourteen days prior to the scheduled arrival date.
However, if cancellation is for a university graduation, parents weekend, reunion, or
special event, notification must be received no less than thirty days prior to the first
day of the reservation. When a reservation is canceled or shortened on a shorter notice,
regardless of the reason, all deposits will be forfeited should we not be able to re-book
the room(s) for the entire duration of the cancelled period.
We are aware of the challenges of baby-sitters/child minders as well as those post-fifty
guests with parents in delicate health. We will always make a great effort to re-book,
however, if not successful, those for whom we blocked out dates are ultimately responsible
for room charges regardless of the reason for cancellation.
- Discounts: A discount in the amount of 10% is available for active duty
military. Discount requests must be made at time of reservation.
- Check-In and Check Out Times: To allow for an adequate amount of time
to prepare the Inn for your stay, check-in begins at 3:00 p.m. In consideration of the
other guests, please plan to arrive no later than 6:00 p.m. Other times can be arranged by
prior arrangement. Please telephone us if you are delayed in route or need to change your
check-in time. Check-out time is 11:00 a.m. It may be possible to retain the use of the
room as late as 1:00 p.m. depending on reservations scheduled for the day.
- Children: Responsible, parentally supervised children are welcome.
- Pets: We welcome well-managed dogs with advance notice, in the James
Clark Room, our first-floor room with direct outside access. Dogs are restricted to the
Clark Room and outdoors. In addition, dogs left unattended in the room must be crated ,
and a cell phone number provided in case there is a problem. The fee is $20 for the first
night and $10 for each subsequent night.
- Smoking: Restricted to the front porch, patio, and grounds.
