Windsor, Vermont

Juniper Hill Inn Bed and Breakfast, of Windsor, VT (near Woodstock, Vermont) was built in 1902 as a stately, grand yet comfortable Vermont country home for one captain of Industry.

The architecture of our National Historic Register bed and breakfast is noteworthy and our setting unparalleled in New England.

Our 14 acres of manicured lawns and perennial gardens makes us the ideal location to relax and enjoy nature's grandure.

When you first arrive at Juniper Hill Inn you win be impressed by the mansion's powerful silhouette atop our namesake hill. Before you tour the grounds and explore the area please come inside and greet the innkeepers - after all, this will be your home away from home and we are well prepared to make your stay pleasant and comfortable.

Not many homes have a 30' by 40' great hall with floor to ceiling fireplace, English honey oak paneling and a 5' by 15' massive table in their gathering room. Despite its grand size, the great hall has many intimate places to carry on private conversations.

Before visiting your room, feel free to explore the remainder of the ground floor. A gentleman's sitting parlor with fireplace is the ideal place for a pre-dinner cocktail or a congenial place to meet fellow travelers.

All sixteen guest chambers offer private baths. Several feature our popular restored antique claw-foot soaking tubs - the ideal way to soak your cares away.

  • All rates are subject to Vermont rooms and meals tax. Room gratuities are always at the guest's discretion.
  • Reservation and Cancellation Policy:
As an intimate property, cancellations affect us greatly and also inhibit others from reserving their desired dates. We therefore have the following cancellation and change policy:

Upon reservation a one nights deposit, or 50% of your stay (whichever is greater), is required by credit card. We require cancellation/change 15 days in advance of your check-in date and impose a $50 fee per room for any alterations to the reservation once confirmed. Cancellations within 15 days are subject to forfeiture of the deposit or 50% of the voucher amount. Cancellations three days or less of the arrival date, or during the stay, are subject to forfeiture of the full amount of the stay less any nights we are not able to fill. Rooms we are able to fill will result in a Future Stay Credit in that exact amount good for one year towards a similar stay, less the $50 cancellation fee. Holiday and special event periods require a 60 day advance cancellation with the above parameters in effect. Some holidays and Dartmouth Graduation require a three night stay. Dartmouth Graduation reservations must be cancelled by January 5th of the year of graduation with a $50 cancellation per room and payment in full will be taken on that date.

Guests traveling with a well behaved dog will pay a $30 per night (maximum $90) fee to cover the additional housekeeping needs and agree to be responsible for any physical damage the dog may create. Only certain rooms are pet friendly so please inquire at time of reservation.

The library
is the logical place for quiet intimate conversation or to challenge your abilities at Scrabble. Take your pick, there are lots of games and time seems to stand still in this wonderful old room tucked into the West wing of our house. The library is so isolated you may have to be shown how to find it but once there you may never wish to leave.

The dining room is as romantic as any you will find in New England. Deep burgundy walls with Waverly window treatments compliment the hand carved floor to ceiling wood burning fireplace. Intricate moldings, candles and classical music playing softly in t he background offer the perfect setting for a delicious ever changing menu of New England country cuisine. What a wonderful culmination to an exciting day!

Juniper Hill Inn is widely recognized as one of New England's premiere romantic destinations for weddings and honeymoons.
