Sit on the spacious front porch and sip a cool drink as you enjoy the sunset over the mountains
Once the center of a small plantation, Stoneridge offers a glimpse of antebellum life. The original house was built in 1829 with bricks made on the property, and over the years several additions were constructed by previous owners.
Explore the grounds and you will find remnants of servants cabins, a restored spring house and a time-worn corn crib. The house is rumored to have been a stagecoach stop for the weary traveler between Staunton and Roanoke.
Continuing this history of hospitality, Stoneridge was renovated to include such modern amenities as central air conditioning, ceiling fans and private baths in all guest rooms.
This 2nd floor room has mountain views, queen sized rice carved mahogany bed, marble faced fireplace, heart-pine floors. Bath has large shower.
Decorated in sunny yellows. Magnolias are the theme in this lovely room.
Rates: $90 to $150 based on season, day of week, and double occupancy.
Step through the original Adams style double doors and find restored rooms with high ceilings, intricate moldings, elaborate mantels and heart-pine floors. There is a library which has an extensive collection of books, satellite television and a cozy fire.
A full gourmet breakfast is served in
the dining room and
afternoon and evening refreshments are provided.
