Village Inn
of Woodstock
Bed and Breakfast
Woodstock, Vermont
Welcome to the
Village Inn of Woodstock Bed and
Breakfast in Woodstock, Vermont.
Our 1899 Victorian mansion is
conveniently located in the village of Woodstock, just a short walk from numerous art
galleries, wonderful shopping and dining, and all that Woodstock has to offer. |

|
The Inn, situated on what was once a 40-acre Ottaquechee
River estate, has been treasured over the years, and retains much of the
mansion's original splendor. The Victorian Mansion and the Coachman's Cottage are all that
remain of the estate, which was built by the Merrill family as a wedding gift for their
son in 1899. An impressive oak staircase, fireplaces and hearths, wood floors, rich oak
wainscoting and moldings, ornate tin ceilings, cranberry glass lamps, pocket doors, built
in drawers, and heavy beveled glass are all original.
Woodstock's own natural beauty, historic
homes, covered bridgesand elegant shops are some of the many reasons why people first come
here to visit.
For some it may be the challenge of alpine skiing, the cross country ski
touring and romantic sleigh rides. It may be the adventure of biking, horseback riding,
canoeing or hiking the back trails that lure another. You might enjoy a relaxing game of
golf, tennis, and basking in the sun at one of the many lakes in the region. Many enjoy
the varied cultural activities at nearby Dartmouth College and the Hopkins
Center in Hanover or the dramatic views of the Quechee Gorge.
Each of our guest
rooms is elegantly appointed with period antiques.
One has a fireplace, two have
original marble wash stands, all have private baths, extended cable television and
air-conditioning in the summer months. |

|
On the third floor, Dr. Merrill's
billiard room was converted into two guest rooms, one of which has a whirlpool tub in the
bathroom. Whichever one of our beautifully appointed rooms you choose, you are sure to
enjoy your visit to Woodstock.
