For kicking back and relaxing, there isn't a more appropriate spot. And for those who want outdoor activity, the Inn's 35 acres offer bird watching, fishing, swimming, and hiking.

The Chetco River Inn has five guestrooms and one cottage that gives a delightful combination of old-world-hospitality and modern comforts.

Your room features down-covered dual king- or twin-size beds, a private bath, and various views of mountains, river, and gardens.

A good night's sleep is easy to come by: open the window to the sound of the river and luxuriate in the layers of bedclothes.

A complete country-style, home-cooked breakfast is served family style. Upon request you can enjoy dinners and picnic lunches. You are welcome to have coffee, tea, and fruit which is available throughout the day.

The pattern of a day at Chetco River Inn alternates between solitude and sociability. After a few hours of reading or river watching, it's good to take a hike or share some deck time with the other guests. People wanting to explore the coast can go to Brookings, Harris, or Whaleshead beaches, Boardman State Park, or Cape Sebastian; guests even go up to Gold Beach for the jetboat rides and return to the Inn at night. Those who come to the inn to have some alone time find that solitude is also possible.

Each season at the Inn has its unique qualities.

Spring brings a profusion of flowers in Sandra's garden and the return of migrating birds.

Summer offers a chance to escape the coastal fog for a swim in the river or a hike in the pristine Kalmiopsis Wilderness.

In the fall, maples add a touch or orange, and you might catch a glimpse of a river otter or a great blue heron, or go fishing for salmon.

Winter is a good time to sit by a fire and just relax or go fishing for steelhead. Or you can explore Brookings, Oregon's well known "banana belt," where you might be surprised by days clear enough to go whale watching at Cape Sebastion.

Whatever the season, you'll find something in the natural world to fill up your senses, and something in the warm welcome of Sandra Brogger to make you want to return to the Chetco River Inn.
