Red Clover Inn
As you travel down our winding country road in the shadow of the Green Mountains, you get a sense of what awaited General John Woodward who built the Red Clover Inn in 1840 as a private retreat - comfort, peace, and relaxation.
Truly an inn for all seasons, the Red Clover Inn and Restaurant is close to everything.
Once inside, the country Inn feels like a large cozy home; comfortable furniture, exposed wood beams, the field-stone fireplace crackling away in the spacious old-fashioned Keeping Room and personal attentiveness of a friendly staff. Perhaps a game of chess or backgammon to lull away the day. There's even an intimate pub to provide your favorite libation.
We offer 14 charming, antique, country style guest rooms all with private baths, air conditioning, picturesque mountain views and a variety of accommodations. Choose from queen or king guest rooms, some with fireplaces and whirlpool tubs for two.
Our newest and most luxurious rooms, Country Crossing, Garden Gables, and Mountain Retreat, each have a fireplace, king bed, whirlpool tub for two, and commanding mountain views.
A full country breakfast with homebaked breads, fresh fruit and juice and a hot entrée is served each morning.
Guests are invited to enjoy an elegant candlelit dinner served Monday-Saturday (Sundays during holidays and foliage) starting at 6:00 in one of our romantic dining rooms. Two of our three dining rooms have fireplaces and all are air conditioned. Menu offerings change daily to take advantage of the freshest available ingredients. We offer a full bar and an award-winning wine list to complement your meal.
The Red Clover Inn and Restaurant is a Wine Spectator "Award of Excellence" recipient since 1995.
Killington (5 miles) and Pico (3 miles) are a stone's throw away. Cross-country skiers delight in the abundant, scenic, well-groomed trails. Or snuggle into a horse-drawn sleigh ride.
In the warmer months, swim in the knoll-top pool. Hike or bike a mountain or ride horseback. Enjoy Music on the Mountain concerts or summer stock.
Fall is a special time to watch leaves change color, pick apples or browse for antiques. Perhaps you just want to relax. It's up to you...do as much or as little as you choose.
~What some of our guests are saying~
This is the home where I spent my youth growing, working, learning and
enjoying life....we are staying in what used to be my mothers room...while I was
overseas my sister Mary had her last child in the room thats now a ladies bathroom
on the first floor. Many fond memories are associated with this farm.

This was our second visit to the Red Clover Inn. We thoroughly enjoyed
ourselves once again. You have a warm, cozy inn and the food...John called it "a
festival for the taste buds!" We had a wonderful weekend full of the outdoors and the
best of the indoors.
Ann and John B., Wallingford CT
Best food in Vermont! The Inn is an 1840's farmhouse which was very
quiet and peaceful...very relaxing with cozy fireplaces.
